Disaster Health - the Convergence of Disaster Medicine and Public Health
At DHI, we advance disaster health through research, policy, and practice to strengthen disaster preparedness and response for all humanity and improve global health outcomes in crises
To lead a transdisciplinary movement integrating civil protection, public health, and medical sectors worldwide—driving collaborative research, uniting organizations, and shaping the next global health framework beyond Sendai to strengthen resilience in the face of 21st-century crises.
Establishing the Disaster Health Institute as a nonprofit is essential to ensure that its mission remains focused on the public good rather than private interests. In a rapidly evolving risk landscape marked by climate change, pandemics, conflict, and technological disruption, there is an urgent need for a neutral, mission-driven platform that can connect disciplines, institutions, and sectors. As a nonprofit, DHI can independently foster collaboration across civil protection, public health, and medical systems—free from political or commercial agendas. This structure allows it to drive impactful research, influence global policy, and support the development of a new UN-aligned global health framework rooted in equity, evidence, and resilience for all communities.
Your generous donations help the Disaster Health Institute conduct crucial humanitarian and health research, development programs, guidance to professional healthcommunities impacted by conflict, disease, and disaster. Join us in advancing disaster health and improving global health outcomes. Every contribution counts!
